victims to see if they were asleep.

Angie then picked up the name of a man named John Drayton who passed through Colnbrook on his way to London. Sadly for our friend this was to be his last stop. It wasn’t long after that a very loud bang seemed to come from overhead and shake the entire room. By this stage the room had become very icy and some of our longer serving members weren’t ashamed to admit they were a tad spooked.
Next more orbs were seen on the monitor by Craig, and then April seemed to notice a shadow movement very close to Angie.

11pm: Our first vigil came to an end. It came as a relief. The pub had now emptied downstairs and we began to set up our séance. Lee decided to watch out séance from the outer circle with a daring colleague. This time we had a crystal at one end of the table I had prepared a laminated alphabet, yes and no signs numbers a goodbye to spread out around the table to see if it would react with our tumbler. We’d had no success to date with the glass. Would this be the night?
Midnight: We were almost an hour into our séance and nothing much seemed to be happening when a loud drag of a chair seemed to come from downstairs. The only two remaining staff were with us – enough said.
All of a sudden Craig began to shake and this set the crystal vibrating, but then, suddenly, the table began to move quite violently. It was time to experiment with eh glass. Liz, Gary, Adel and I took control. At first all was quiet but then Angie started picking up John Drayton again. He pointed out the year 1468. He confirmed that he had died in the building but then faded away.

Then the glass started frantically zipping all over the table. Could this be Jarman trying to contact us? Angie got a ‘yes’ from the spirit and after numerous questions he pointed to the numbers 5 and 7. There were 57 grounded spirits in the pub. He was 37 when he began killing and died at 58. (We needed to validate these later) Liz asked if he was abused as a child. He replied yes and he also confirmed the aged of his parents when they died. We asked him given the chance would he kill us he could. The answer was yes and this provoked excitement rather than horror for some reason. We then asked he is like the staff currently in charge at the pub. He said no which put lee and her colleague on edge. We asked him to spell out something of us and all we got were the letters SNIVC in that order. They don’t seem to make much sense. Perhaps they could be Latin symbols. Several times we tried to say goodbye but he resisted. In the end we had to break the energy and let it be.

2pm: We decided to split up and take the refurbished areas of the pub. Angie went to the ladies’ again where she had previously experienced horrid vibes. I called out to Jarman to confirm that this was the place where he had stored the bodies and almost instantaneously the page button on my walkie talkie went off. Everyone screamed and scrambled for the light switch. For that noise to happen the button on the walkie talkie device had to be physically pushed. There doesn’t seem to be any explanation for t this at all. The lights were turned off again and Angie began to channel in once more in a cubicle. On camera loads of orbs seemed to be emanating from around her head and what happened next seemed to spook everyone. My face seemed to change in the reflection of the mirror in the cubicle to that of a young man called “Robbie.” Angie said he had been murdered at the inn. After a couple of seconds I came over all dizzy and couldn’t remember what had just happened. Seconds later Angie screamed that she’d heard a gruff voice whisper in her ear and ran out of the cubicle. We all scrambled for the door.
4pm: We regrouped and decided to call it a night and retired to our sleeping bags upstairs. We were all exhausted by our strange experiences.
7pm: We awoke to hear that Sean had had very little sleep himself. He’d woken and been crippled with a terrible fear and had to resort to playing his mp3 player for the rest of the night.
8am: We were on our way home after packing up in a record time and finishing with a prayer. This is definitely a place that’s oozing with residual energy, which would explain a number of the ghoulish happenings.  Mr Jarman may be a bad son of a gun but he certainly made our night memorable and we can’t wait to return.”
