Once again excitement was high in the camp as we returned to this famous establishment and we can only thank the current owners of the place to have us welcomed back with open arms. Eight of the members arrived first and were greeted by our friends in the Ostrich, they had kindly reserved the Elizabethan room again for us, which again was to be our base camp for the night. After some light refreshments (no alcohol) it was time to set up and get underway. Craig had put his infa red camera in the blue room, which was the infamous room in which the unfortunates would spend their last nights. The camera faced the fireplace, where the bed would have been, also set up there were trigger objects, the room was also locked off. It wasn't until reviewing the footage that a very interesting orb floats past at one stage and seems to take the shape of a face, again when footage is obtained , watch this space! Vigil number one took place in the Elizabethan room. Clint D and April arrived toward the end of the first vigil as they had to drop in on a party en route. Unfortunately no real findings this time round compared to how active the room seemed to be during the first vigil on the last visit. As the building is so old, Clint D and April confirmed to the group that it was them creaking the floorboards as they entered the building and went upstairs, just in case some of our members thought they had captured multiple footstep phenomena!

As time seemed to be catching up on us we began to prep the séance, whilst chatting with the manageress she introduced us to a chap named Dale who worked as a barman downstairs, he asked us if we didn't mind him sitting in on some vigils with us, of course we insisted. However our manageress friend got too spooked, especially after what we told her last time, she left us some important numbers and she headed off to bed. We didn't seem to have a completely successful séance like last time, a few noises and drafts here and there, but I'm sure they could be explainable. The room felt oddly calm too, whereas last visit it didn't feel nice at all. After what seemed a very quick hour our time was up, after some refreshments and conversation with our guest we decided to take matters downstairs.

Dale followed a few members downstairs, whilst Clint D, Hayley and Gary decided to hold a small vigil in the customer ladies toilets where a white lady is often seen grooming herself in the mirror and gets very disturbed and fraught if people encroach. How would she feel about three people we wondered? Sounds funny but Hayley is very receptive in toilets and picks up a lot a things, it wasn't long before she felt a female presence, who Hayley described as nasty, and that it didn't want us in here. Hayley said that it was getting stronger, at one point she moved out of one of the cubicles as it got too much. It was just then that all three members had a very strong smell of mints flood into the toilet, why? how? it was the early hours how would this smell be so thick and under noses so that you could taste it! To our knowledge, years ago, ladies would have bowls or trays of confectionary or in this case mints in their boudoirs or bathrooms, we were definitely convinced that whoever it was was, was informing us that they were there. In the space of a couple of minutes the smell completely vanished, interesting.

Angie, April, Liz and Clint S were in the infamous kitchen area. This is where Jaramans victims would have fallen to their deaths in a vat of boiling oil. We can tell you that this place just doesn't fell nice at all, even the darkened bar area seems somewhat cosy to the kitchen and pantry areas. A very oppressive feel indeed. Toward the area where the kitchen leads to the stores (this is where the bodies in the barrels would have been rolled out the back) April became very distressed and almost upset as she saw a dark movement go toward Angie. As April went to inform her Angie commented that she knew what April was going to say, Angie knew there was something there. By the time Clint S aimed the camera it had gone. That spooked them, it was time to leave.

The deep fat fryer in the kitchen area, this is where Jarmans victims would have fallen through form above to their deaths.

As the group rejoined and explained of our recent findings, Clint D, Franco, Adel, and Hayley decided to give the kitchen a look after hearing about the other guys experiences in there. The rest pulled up some bar chairs and reviewed some images and charged the necessary equipment. Dale was asking lots of questions, clearly very interested in what we do. As the above mentioned entered the kitchen Hayley could feel straight away that there was an air of unpleasantness in there, some pictures that were digitally captured , for some reason didn't even expose, or had an eerie red hue about them, weird! We all became very clingy as we walked round the darkened kitchen. Ironically the exact spot where April witness the shadowy movement, Hayley jumped, screamed and we all ran out. It wasn't until we sat down she explained that whatever was in there touched rather perversely on her leg. By now we were all a bit nervy. However some outside activity raised the "spirits" some drunken revellers outside, clearly oblivious to the fact that we could see them from a dark pub, were getting very er...close shall we say, as we laughed I think they heard, and could possibly see us. Mind you them seeing us en mass at the window and armed with cameras probably spooked them too. Anyway after some light relief (ahem) Dale took us to the cellar outside, very dark in here, very cold that was about it, disappointing that one, it felt as if we were leaving all the energy back in the pub as nothing happened here.

We ventured back inside. some of us getting tired now, but Dale kindly asked if we would look at his room in the staff quarters upstairs, as the hall adjacent to his room is known to be haunted as an evil husband is said to have murdered his wife many years ago in the hall. It is also said then when people decorate in the hall paint always spills in the exact spot where she was murdered, and will take on the form of the bloodstain. Sounds good. But it seemed very calm up here, and people were starting to drop off, sitting on the comfy bed did not help matters at all! After an hour in here a few folks decided to go off and do their own vigils as others, particularly our drivers needed some sleep it was starting to get light. One final event was noted as Clint D ventured rather hurriedly upstairs to grab his sleeping bag, the gap under the door of the female customer toilets seemed to emanating a bright light, almost as if the toilet light was on, but with all members accounted for, this seemed very strange indeed. Seconds later he ran back to check, and it was off! This is one active place! Before we knew it we were all asleep, checking for trapdoors first of course !

Once again many, many thanks to our friends at the Ostrich Inn, who were so kind to let us back, and have since invited back again! We are extremely grateful. Thanks again to all the SPRG members, and to Mr Jarman, we know your there!
