Well we always welcome a visit to our favourite destination and good old Lee and the team at the Ostrich were only too happy to have us back and at such short notice! The team arrived around 7pm and met the staff as per usual and then began to unload our gear and begin setups. We had some good news that the pub would be closing a lot earlier this time, great we were after more time downstairs so this worked out fine. Lee was away for the evening so Ed and his team looked after us. Ed seemed very interested about what we do and asked if he could take part maybe later on we he finished his shift. He then told us if we were aware that a lady named Mary had hung herself form one of the beams just outside Jarmans room. When this happened we are not sure of. Before Clint D had barely finished explaining this to Angie she was aware of this as she felt a huge rush of oppression hit her in that exact same spot as soon as we arrived.

During the setup a variety of anomalies were captured on still camera in the same spot that they had appeared on our last visit, by more than one camera. See image below.

At least five orbs seen in this image in the parlour of the ostrich.

We decided as a change of pace that we would begin with a seance upstairs in the parlour, until the bar downstairs became available. We found a nice round table and setup our letters and found a glass, hopefully it would move for us. We lit the incense and candles,  had our opening prayers and away we go. Ed came up from the bar to see what was going on. After focusing and trying to draw in the energies Angie came up with the name "Elgar" or "Elgin" and could see a piano. The only connection to this could have been the great British classical piano composer Edward Elgar, what connection this had with the Ostrich has not yet been confirmed. Angie then had visions of red coat marching soldiers, of whom seemed to be marching out the back of the pub. Then she seemed to see people on horses vaulting hedges again behind the pub. Angie seems to believe that un-recorded unpleasant events had occurred around the back of the pub. Again no dates could be confirmed.

We decided to try the glass technique, we had no movement for about ten minutes, minor movements at first, but that may have had something to do with the fingers nervously trembling on the glass. Ironically Angie and Shane both came up with the name "Thomas", interesting stuff. We did have some glass movement, Angie and Liz seemed to believe it was our friend Jarman. Although we had movement, nothing of any significance seemed to be spelled out before us, only something that could have resembled roman numerals, one of us really needs to start learning those properly! A few members seemed to be drawn into the opposite side of the music room, April seemed to think she saw a movement in the corner Adel confirmed this. Clint D shot a picture into this area, of which produced an interesting image, see below.

This light anomaly was captured by Clint D during the seance.

Angie seemed to think that the infamous highwayman Dick Turpin had some sort of connection with the Ostrich too, it was a well known establishment at the time for highwaymen going to and from London so it could have been possible.

After the seance we decided to head downstairs and start searching there. Craig and Clint D setup two cameras, one in the main bar area the other in the downstairs ladies toilet. This used to be the pantry, and the spot were Jarman would have stored the bodies of the victims he murdered. This proved to be an interesting area last time around. As the teams split up, one taking the bar area the other the ladies toilet. The team in the bar area were spooked by a very loud noise that seemed to suggests something had been dropped, the noise then repeated itself about an hour later in the restaurant area near the ladies customer toilet. Craig caught sight of a massive orb on one of our monitirs form the camera in the main bar area, At this time Clint D, Clint S, April and Liz conducted a mini seance on a table in the bar area. The glass had some movement and Liz then picked up on an entity named Molly who she believed had once worked at the pub as a servant, Clint D seemed to think that white and pink carnations were of some significance to Molly. Ed and his team later returned from a nearby function and were only to pleased to show us their rooms and some very old parts of the pub we hadn't seen before. And abandoned room seemed to suggest to Angie that a number of spirits frequented this room. Ed then explained how he awoke one night to see a head and shoulder formation in the corner of his room, this is very possible. Ed and his team asked a lot of questions of which we were only to pleased to answer.

A break was needed after this including a rousing rendition of happy birthday for Angie! We then went downstairs for a final investigation a few members took Jarmans room, it wasn't long before the sun started to come up so we didn't have long. Nothing else seemed to come through, so it was time to hit the hay!

Thanks again to Ed and his team for looking after us and for showing us around, special thanks to Lee for your continuing support. Finally thank you to Jarman, Dick, Mr Elgar Thomas and Molly, if that was you who came by to say hi, we appreciate it. Until next time keep believing SPRG.
