We were more than happy to accept another invitation from Brian at Pevensey, and a visit to this charming little town is always met with open arms from the group. After arrival and the tradition of fish and chips. Brian was discussing with us how he had some different ideas for the night that he would like to try out with us. We began by setting up some cameras that would point down the stairs and focus on the courtyard area, where the cells are located. The location of some of our happenings on recent visits. At first we began with an hours vigil just to get us going. Craig, Emma, Liz, Adel, Clint D and Ben stayed upstairs in the main courthouse covering the robing room also. April, Helen, Angie, Ed, Clint S and Brian went downstairs and covered the courtyard and cells.
The group upstairs only seemed to notice one or two knocks, there seemed to be the uneasy feel emanating from the robing room. A feeling that always seems to be felt at this location. The group downstairs, apart from feeling cold, didn't really notice any untoward noises or happenings. However Angie began to feel nauseous, and pick up on a bearded figure, again similar to last time. With her concentration Angie began to bring forward a spirit, which seemed to be affecting her voice and spooking the rest of the gang, her face then began to change shape and soon she came round again feeling very ill. Was Angie experiencing transfiguration? With a lot of the pubs around the area still active it was quite hard to get any quiet at this time. After a regroup, and a quick tea break Ed noticed a flash of light move in the dark in the robing room, even with the lights on certain group members often go into this claustrophobic room in two's or three's due to it's unwelcome feel! Brian soon revealed to us that he wished to try regression or hypnosis on certain members of the group to see if it would benefit the evening. He decided that certain sensitive members of the group may benefit from hypnosis working with the residual energy of the place. Clint D, Emma, Adel, Angie, and Liz volunteered to take part. Brian took this members to the courtyard out of sight of the other members and then performed a series of activities on each member to see if hypnosis was good for them. He then used his own secret method to put the guys under. The results were indeed quite fascinating!
The next vigil would be very different to anything we had done before. The guys under hypnosis were taken into the main cell in the courtyard. Clint D filmed the rest of the team watched on ready to record any events or findings. Brian put the chosen few to "sleep" where in their semi-conscious state they would be able to hear only his voice and this state of mind would hopefully evoke some emotions to trigger some information about the building and it's past. A word of warning. Hypnosis and regression should only be undertaken in controlled environments and by professionals. Brian is a professional and the guys were completely safe under his control.
Brian asked the group if they felt anything untoward, Angie came up with the same information as earlier in the night. April was visualising an image of an emaciated man, crouched and eating bad food from a wooden bowl, this began to make her feel very uneasy and very sick. Soon enough Emma felt the same, and when Clint D was asked if anyone was present, he only muttered he felt sick, his eyelids then began to flicker rapidly and he began trembling, soon enough it all got a bit to much and Brian had to bring him round and send him out to get some air. When Clint D awoke it had clearly taken it out of him. Angie began to almost transfigurate again, but she said that whatever it was was very strong, and she didn't think that letting this spirit through to work with her would be a good idea. Was the jailor from last time? This hour or so had really taken it out of the hypnotised few, so it was time for an extended break. After resting up, the regression continued up in the courthouse, maybe because it was warmer up there, that probably helped. Again Brian asked similar questions. Apart from odd feelings and thoughts, it was Liz who seemed to be quite disturbed. She described how she had a little girl with her who seemed to be looking for someone but was happy. Brian instantly knew who this was. Ellie May. The spirit of this little girl had been picked up by many a visitor to the courthouse. Due to the hypnosis Liz could visualise what she looked like and what she was doing. Brian suggested moving her on. Liz then gave the whole group a fright when she began yelling "no, no don't take me away from here, you're not taking me away" This put the team on edge, and it began to get quite emotional. "Ellie May" seemed to be working through Liz and telling us that she was happy where she was and didn't want to moved on. The shouting continued for a while, Brian had to bring Liz out of the state she was in and calmed her down. This practice seemed to be taking it's toll on the members and it was time to bring people around and close down.
This evening was certainly very different to others we had been on. We were extremely greatful to Brian for looking after us again and for trying out this new way of exploring the paranormal, even if it did get a bit extreme at times, it was all worth it. Until next time.
